Film Solent: growing South Hampshire’s film economy

Film is an important and growing part of our region’s creative economy. A thriving film industry brings with it many benefits: exciting careers for our young people, important direct and indirect economic benefits, and the opportunity to create a distinctive identity for our region. In September 2022, SPC held a seminar at Fareham College that was attended by film professionals and practitioners along with those responsible for developing and supporting the creative economy across South Hampshire. It was an opportunity to explore how we can support and promote our film sector, improve communication within the sector and across sector boundaries, build networks to stimulate collaboration, offer opportunities to develop local skills and resources, and make available the funding to stimulate growth and innovation.
