Join Southern Policy Centre for its first-ever ‘Ambitions for the central South’ conference. For eight years the Southern Policy Centre has offered a critical space to discuss the challenges facing our region and we’ve championed the region’s strengths – from its life sciences to its universities, its outstanding natural environment and its connections to every part of the UK, Europe and the world.
Now we want to bring these and other issues together in our ‘Ambitions for the central South’ conference on Tuesday March 28th. We expect attendance from over 150 delegates drawn from those who are setting the regional agenda in business, research, education, public services and local government. We’ll hear from national and regional speakers and meet, discuss and network.
The conference will comprise four key thematic sessions:
- Regional economic strategy and devolution
- Opportunities for growth
- Place: creative industries, cities and civic identity
- Levelling Up
The event will include a keynote speaker and conclude with a panel discussion hosted by BBC South’s Political Editor Peter Henley on the future of the region. There will be plenty of opportunities for networking and refreshments and lunch will be provided.
